The Operation Lafiya Dole’s troops have killed no less than 11 Boko Haram terrorists in their efforts to fight the insurgency in the northeast.
This was confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday by the coordinator, Defense Media Operations, Major General John Enenche.
Giving details of the operations, Enenche noted that the troops of the 121 Task Force Battalion (TF) with less than 26 TF Bde came into contact with the BHTs at the crossing point of the Pulka-Firgi road.

The incident in an ambush left a terrorist dead with an AK-47 shotgun recovered in the process.
A motorcycle painted in military colors was also recovered with a hand grenade manufactured locally.
Likewise, on April 24, 2020, 192 Bn and 26 Bde troops deployed in Gwoza, while overnight ambush operations came into contact with BHTs trying to cross the Mandara Mountains to the Sambisa Forest and in the shooting. Subsequent neutralized 2 BHTs, while several others escaped in disarray with gunshot wounds while a bicycle and two copies of the Holy Quran with various clothing items were recovered.

“Likewise, on April 27, 2020, troops from the Echo Company 114 Bn in a blocked position in the Izge Response Area (RA) received information about the BHT attack in the village of Yenegu, about 5 km from the location of the troops themselves.
“Upon receiving the information, the troops quickly mobilized and involved the BHTs who fled due to the superior firepower of the troops. No victims were registered by the troops themselves, while 2 BHTs were neutralized ”, the statement said in part.

The defense spokesman also reiterated the commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to end the Boko Haram insurgency
